Watermelon Sorbet
There’s nothing quite as refreshing as watermelon on a hot day—except maybe this watermelon sorbet. Light, juicy, and incredibly easy to make, this recipe captures the taste of summer in every bite. Serve it poolside, as a palate cleanser, or for a light and cooling dessert.
Ingredients:
- ½ ripe watermelon (enough to yield about 3½ cups purée)
- 1 cup simple syrup
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
- Prepare the watermelon:
Remove the rind and seeds from the watermelon. Cut into chunks. - Purée:
Place the watermelon pieces in a food processor and blend until smooth. You should end up with approximately 3½ cups of purée. - Mix:
Stir in the simple syrup and lemon juice until well combined. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity as needed. - Freeze:
Pour the mixture into the bowl of your Whynter ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve in chilled bowls or hollowed-out lime halves for a fun summer presentation. Garnish with a sprig of mint or a few mini chocolate chips for a “seeded” effect.
