
Caramel Sauce Ice Cream Topping
Gooey, golden, and irresistibly rich—this homemade caramel sauce brings that classic, buttery sweetness to your favorite frozen desserts. It’s perfect for drizzling over a scoop of vanilla or folding into your next sundae.
Ingredients:
- 1¼ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup corn syrup
- Pinch of salt
- ⅓ cup plus 1 tablespoon heavy cream
Directions:
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat, add the sugar. Stir continuously until the sugar melts and turns liquid.
- Crush any lumps of sugar against the side of the pan and continue to stir until it reaches a golden brown color. Tip: If lumps remain, remove the pan from the heat and stir vigorously until they dissolve.
- Return the pan to the heat and slowly add the corn syrup, stirring quickly to combine.
- Add a pinch of salt, then gradually pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly until smooth.
Yields: About 2½ cups
