Cantaloupe Sorbet
Cool, smooth, and lightly sweet, this cantaloupe sorbet is a refreshing way to enjoy ripe summer melons. It’s naturally dairy-free and bursting with fresh fruit flavor. Feel free to substitute honeydew, watermelon, or any other ripe melon you have on hand—just be sure to taste and adjust the sweetness and acidity before freezing.
Ingredients:
- 1 large cantaloupe
- 1¼ cups simple syrup
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
- Prepare the melon:
Peel, seed, and cube the cantaloupe. - Purée:
Place the melon cubes in a food processor and purée until smooth. You should have about 3½ cups of purée. - Mix:
Stir in the simple syrup and lemon juice. Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness or acidity, if needed. - Freeze:
Pour the mixture into the bowl of your Whynter ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Serving Suggestion:
Serve in chilled bowls or hollowed-out melon halves for a beautiful presentation. A sprig of mint or a thin lime slice makes a lovely garnish.
